Yoga

Yoga - 60 Minutes

Yoga was great today, Connie's class is always a good stretch, and very relaxing.

Biking

Abs Class - 15 Minutes
Seated Biking - 60 Minutes

Abs was great again today, I really like that class. Seated biking or an hour was good too, however, now my knee is hurting a little. Something about the seated one, I will have to stick to the upright ones from now on.

More Biking

Upright Bike - 40 Minutes

Felt like I got a better workout on the upright bike than anything else I have done so far other than swimming, but the pool was full. Plus my knee didn't hurt after last time, so I checked it out again. It was another good sweat, but I just can't seem to get into it, maybe it will just take time.....which I've got.

Biking

Upright Bike - 30 Minutes

Decided to take a shot at the upright bike today and see how it felt. I was clipping along at a pretty good pace, felt ok, worked up a great sweat. We will see how my knee feels in the morning.

The pool was full today, so I had to settle for Yoga only..........which was enough. This was a different instructor, and man did she give us a workout, I will surely be sore tomorrow.

Visit to the Ortho

Abs Class - 15 Minutes
Water Running - 30 Minutes

Visited to AD the Ortho today to get my legs and feet analysed. He recommended some different shoes, and they are making me some orthodics. He says it's pretty obvious what is hurting my hamstring, and a couple of weeks in the new shoes with the orthodics should take care of it.....now if my knee would cooperate.

Abs was tough today, I think I need to take Wednesday off.

Water running, I was a bit uninspired, and beat. I helped Tom from work chop wood for 8 hours on Sunday, my body was sore.

Getting Wet

It was just me and the instructor today in abs class, so no slacking. She did a number on me that's for sure.

More water running, today was more like a tempo run, fast for the entire 40 minutes, I was at about a 130 steps per minute pace.

Swimming

Swimming - 20 Minutes
Yoga - 45 Minutes

Ah, I forgot how difficult swimming is. Different muscles all together, my shoulders were sore. Plus it's a who different kind of breathing, I am used to in, and out. With swimming, it's in..hold....hold...hold....out....tough to get used to.

Yoga was cool though, first time ever. It was relaxing, I felt good afterwards. Good stretching, good strength building, good instructor. I am surely going again.

More Water Running

Water Running - 6 Laps - 35 Minutes

Felt good today, did some water running after abs class, worked up quite a sweat at both. I think I might get the hang of this water running thing, and actually like it.

Water Running

Water Running - 30 Minutes

Now this isn't too bad. My physical therapist Erin has been talking to me about water running, so I did a little research on it. It sounds like you can keep up to 80% of you running capacity by doing this, and it is 0 impact on your knees. Well, I did it for 30 minutes today, I liked it. It was a good workout, I was sweating, I got in all the normal motion of running, and I could feel it in my legs when I was done. I'm going to see where this leads me.....next up, swimming.

Day 2

Stationary Bike - 20 Minutes

I had a slight twinge in my knee today after using the elliptical yesterday. So I hit the stationary bike. This felt better, but I just didn't feel like I was getting that much of a workout. However, I was able to read while doing this exercise.

Out of the game for a bit

Elliptical - 20 Minutes

Surgeon says nothing that hurts my knee for 3 months.............WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the dent in my cartilage does not heal itself, then it's time to get sliced open.

In an effort to find activities I can do without pain, I started with the elliptical. It was pretty awkward, I think I just need to get used to it. But it seemed like the strides were too short for me.......I will give it another try next week.
