Took a different, hillier route today in Germany. All was going well, great run till about 3.75, I felt a twinge in my calf. Had to stop before 4 miles....hoping this is not a reoccurrence of my calf issues.

Easy run today while watching Transformers 3, hardly felt like work....well, until mile 8, then it got tough. Right at mile 10 though I felt the pain in my knee, it was the same pain that kept me out of running for a while. While 22 miles appeared to be my old max milage, 10-12 may be my new biomechanical limit unfortunatly.

Cold out today. Started my run at the usual outdoors pace of 8:35, but mile 3 I was feeling it but still up around 8:41. Mile 4 doesn't have a lot of hard surfaces to run on, so that slowed my pace and stressed the legs. Mile 5 has a big hill which dropped my average pace to 8:52. The hill on mile 6 slowed me as well, but the down hill the last .5 miles allowed me to catch up. No pain in the calves or knee.

Took the run really slow today trying to get my 8-9 miles in. Legs and lungs felt good, I just ran out of energy. That hasn't happened on a slow run shorter that 15 miles...ever. Concerning...maybe. Disaterous...not at all. I'll get a short outdoor run in Saturday and be ready to get a longer run in next week.

I always forget how much different it is running on hills. I made the 4 miles easier than I have lately, but still. One huge bonus is that my calves felt great, can't remember the last outdoor run I had where I wasn't worried they were gonna snap. Is it the stretching, the slow increase in miles, the inserts....while I am always looking for a silver bullet, I'm sure it's a combo of all of those. Either way it feels good

First outide run in months, 4 or 5 actually and my body was not ready...yikes. Lungs were struggling, legs were struggling on the hills. All in all good, but I have a lot of work to do.
Also noticed that I was running on the outside of my feet in the beginning which is exactly what my new inserts are designed to prevent. I am thinking I picked up that nasty habit after hurting my knee to keep the presure off of it. It was easy to correct but I had to concetrate on it or I resorted back to the old bad was that puts all the stress on my calves. Hopefully I can relearn how to run properly.

Easy run on my new treadmill today while watching the opening fight scene from Blade. Legs felt ok, calves we tight as always. I was conscious of my ankle rolling in before push-off though....hopefully that will make a difference.
Doc has not approved me running until I get my new orthopedics...but that's 3 weeks away, so I am going to start with some easy runs and see how I feel.

Yikes, did P90X Chest and Back before running because I was waiting for the rain to stop....bad call. My upper body was swollen, sore and tight, which made the whole run bad. My legs we also sore from some of the positions you get in during P90X. First time in a while I haven't enjoyed a run. On the bright side, no injuries and I did run at a decent pace.

Something is surely not right with my calf. It's not as bad as it has been in the past, running at all would have been impossible, but it feels like it could go at any time. I took it really easy today, and all that effort I put in to not straining my calf wore out my thighs and my left calf, cause I was beat after only a short run. I'll give it another show Wednesday and see how it feels.

What a difference 20 degrees in tempurature makes. Saturday I was struggling with running outside in the 24 degree temp, today, smooth sailing in the 44 degree temp. I was able to maintain a pretty good clip with not much stress. Knee was a little sore in the beginning, but went away.
My calf, oh my calf. At mile 4.99, seriously, I felt a twinge...like I have felt before and it has not ended well. I will see how it feels, but I may want to pass up the intervals I was planning to do on Saturday and rest.

Long run today, I was done at like 5 Miles, this was much more of a struggle than 8 Miles last week. Not sure what the deal was, but I made it through, felt like passing out right after.
No knee issues though, no calf issues, they did feel tight, but nothing serious. Looking forward to a nice easy, maybe outdoor run Thursday.

Ran outside in Detroit today, I think it was 24 degrees and in the morning, bad combonation for me. Once I got warmed up my legs felt good, and I was moving well. Considering the weekend and the beginning of the week I had, this was a serious accomplishment. Longest run, and a good pace, and everything felt good. Little pain in my knee, the not so good kind. Few things I think I need to start doing:
1. Start breaking in the new pair of shoes and wear them for long runs
2. Stop lifting weights so hard on my upper body to drop a little weight.
3. Start a better diet to drop a little more weight
4. Start running outside.

Felt good again today, ran at a really good pace, much quicker that last time, and my lungs felt a lot better. I was able to concentrate on my form more this time, and worried less about breathing. Looks like I will be locked in for the Saugatuck Town Crier on the 16th of April, need to decide on the 5K or 10K. The way I'm going, hopefully the 10K. Need to get some outside runs in though.

Legs were a little sore today, knee had a slight pain, but all in all good. I think the socks are doing wonders, even with just keeping my calves warm and loose. I am trying to figure out how and when to fit plyometrics/P90X Plyo into my routine, maybe start with Satrudays so I have resting periods after, and go from there.

3 Easy Miles - 28:45 - 9:35 Pace
ANother easy run, no pain, socks felt good. See how I feel in the morning, might just do 2 miles on Wednesday.

3 Easy Miles - 28:30 - 9:30 Pace
Wore my compression socks today for the first time, they felt great. My calves were warmed up it felt like, and I didn't feel any twinges. Hopefully these workout for me.

2 Easy Miles - 19:30 - 9:45 Pace
No socks yet, but still felt good. Did the stair stepper before again to warm up, didn't do abs first this time.....really just jumped on the treadmill right away to talk with Gina. Then, when I got ready to move, I was concentrating so hard on no hurting my self and feeling for every little twinge and pain...that I barely chatted with her...lol.
Anywho, felt ok, still just two miles, I am slow, I don't have much cardio endurance. it will come back, just feels good to run again.

2 Easy Miles - 20:00 - 10:00 Pace
Got back to it today, with a few modificaitons. I hit the stair stepper before running to loosen up my legs a little, also did abs and weights first, just to get the blood flowing. Waiting on my compression socks.....yeah, I am looking for any little advantage to keep me on my feet.
It was painful today, which I expected. Between the lack of running for 5 weeks, 10 lbs of holiday weight, and 10 lbs of lifting weight, it just didn't feel the same putting one foot in front of the other...but it did feel good to be moving.
See how I feel tomorrow, and how Wed goes.
